A few years ago, I was flabbergasted by the stunning beauty of the non-wearable clothes of the Dutch textile artist Lia van Kesteren. After two years of close co-operation, the series Intertwined was created. The photographs and the textile creations are closely matched and have a visible relationship. Barend says: “When Lia and I work together, something special happens in the set, it is like a love story: together we create works of art that we could not have created individually.”
